For your convenience we have provided a few resources for those students entering the MALS program in need of financial assistance and funding opportunities. We encourage all of our students to visit the Costs & Funding webpage on the Graduate School website. There, additional information can be found regarding both internal and external funding sources.

MALS Scholarship

The Master of Arts in Liberal Studies (MALS) program has a limited number of scholarships available to students on a first come first serve basis. Students must apply each semester, and provide financial documentation. Scholarships are needs based, and limited funds are available for scholarship assistance. Applications must be received one month prior to the start of classes in which the student is applying. More information can be obtained through the Office of Interdisciplinary and Professional Studies.

Fellowships and Grants

American Association of University Women - All women are eligible to apply for the fellowships offered by this organization. Fellowships include American Fellowships, Career Development Grants, Selected Professions Fellowships, University Scholar-in-Residence Community Action Grants and International Fellowships.

Yellow Ribbon Program - The University of Miami and the Master of Arts in International Administration (MAIA) is an active participant in the Yellow Ribbon GI Education Enhancement Program. This provision of the post 9/11 GI Bill helps cover the expenses of earning a master's degree. Opportunities for study are available for active duty personnel as well. Veterans of the U.S. Armed Forces are encouraged to visit the official website for the program.
